For my proto-personas, I focused on what my participants felt was the most consuming aspect of their phone screentime. One of my participants, Brian K., indicated that he tends to spend more time on his phone when he’s idling or alone, so I dubbed his role as “solo-phone-user”. Another participant, Janis J., indicated that she works a lot on her phone, so I titled her persona as “work-from-phone busy bee”. Here is a breakdown of each of these proto-personas.
For their journey maps, I constructed a general outline of what each of their typical days might look like and how their phone behavior looks throughout the day. I also inferred their thoughts and feelings based on their pre/post-interview statements and data, along with an analysis of why they might partake in that behavior. My goal was to make the journey maps reflect the overall behaviors and deeper feelings of the participants when it comes to their daily screen-time use.
