I found the product pitch to be a good exercise on evaluating a company, targeting markets, and brainstorming improvements on product features. It was important to spend some time understanding our company’s niche in order to identify opportunities to expand. I think that the TAM/SAM/SOM assignment was a great way to size markets. It was also helpful to see the top user complaints of SoundWave Studios because it gave us direction on formulating new solutions to improve our company. For example, a top complaint was our pricing and business model. My contribution was addressing this pain point to improve our customer experience. I think that our section discussions on brainstorming new features was a helpful way to practice product management. I have enjoyed collaborating on a team to deliver our final pitch. Pitching our project in front of an expert panel was beneficial, as it made our simulation more realistic.
