BUSINESS: Should We Deploy a Gen AI Salesbot?

I believe PulsePoint should wait to deploy their Gen AI Salesbot since deploying the model too early might lead to user dissatisfaction resulting from potential hallucination and/or privacy issues, as well as overall model inefficiency. Bart highlights that the AI’s performance is dependent on third-party vendors, and therefore out of PulsePoint’s control and command. This means that PulsePoint isn’t fully capable of monitoring and troubleshooting the model when released, and if the model is displaying worrisome behavior, such as hallucinating, the users are bound to have negative experiences. Such cases put PulsePoint at the risk of tarnishing their reputation and/or even facing legal action. The involvement of third parties also raises data privacy concerns, as PulsePoint’s control over their users’ data security will also be limited.

In addition, Oreon’s CEO indicates that their users are hesitant to engage with their product, potentially pointing to a general market hesitation/ skepticism that might end up alienating PulsePoint from its users, which goes against PulsePoint’s relationship driven value proposition. I don’t believe that PulsePoint has done enough user readiness research and assessment and deploying the model too early might scare users off/ push them away from the product. Therefore, considering customer sentiment, market sentiment, and value proposition/relevant business goals alignment, phased approach might be better, slowly introducing and testing their AI Salesbot without overwhelming the users, or damaging user experience or relations, or PulsePoint’s reputation.
