For the persona, I worked on creating the typical persona that our TikTok usage studies were aimed at analyzing. I feel that this is a pretty solid representation of the typical college student that is negatively affected by their over-usage of TikTok, which is where we’re trying to step in.
For the journey-map, I used a bit of an atypical structure to depict the numerous different ways of entering into the cycle of TikTok usage as well as the numerous motivations for leaving the app. I felt that this was the best way to represent the user’s journey through their usage of the app because there are multiple reasons for why they would pick up the app as well as it accurately represents the dopamine loop that TikTok uses to hook users into continually using their app for long periods of time.
