Journey Maps and Provision Personas

For my group (group 8), we are focusing on time spent outside and specifically in the sun. With our baseline study, we asked participants to record every time they were outside for 15 or more minutes and to record what they did and how they felt afterwards. Overall, we noticed that most people treat going outside as merely something that happens when they are commuting to some other place. Rarely do people go outside with the intent purpose of enjoying outside, or doing some sort of activity outside.

While most of our participants were Stanford students, we were able to examine one remote worker as well. For my proto-persona, I chose to base him off of the remote worker, so we have a larger variety within our proto-personas. Below is a pdf with my persona for Lee, and a picture of his typical daily journey map.

Lee Ghaundy Quick persona

Overall, I noticed there are many small moments where Lee would be able to go outside (ex: walking to grab groceries for the day) that were not necessarily utilized. This is useful for when we are trying to build people’s habits through their small moments.
