PROJECT WORK: Usability Report

Team Members: Anjali, Dorien, Ellington, Ji Hong, Karson

  1. Severe: Payment system complexity
    1. Simplify the payment process by reducing the required information and integrating a well-known payment gateway for a smoother user experience.
  2. Severe: Political party-based betting system
    1. Redesign the betting system to be more generalized, allowing users to choose their preferred beneficiary or cause instead of just donating to the opposite political party.
  3. Moderate: Phone number requirement during onboarding
    1. Make providing a phone number optional or delay this step until it’s necessary for the app’s functionality, such as inviting friends.
  4. Moderate: Unclear handling of independent-party users
    1. Develop a solution for users who don’t identify with the main political parties, such as allowing them to choose their own preferred cause or organization for the bets.
  5. Moderate: Inability to create and organize sessions before sharing the link
    1. Implement a feature that allows users to create and organize sessions with friends first and then share the link via text, email, or other messaging platforms.
  6. Moderate: Uneven contributions and rewards/punishments
    1. Introduce a feature that ensures all participants contribute equally and that rewards or punishments are distributed evenly among the group.
  7. Trivial: Confusing color scheme with red and blue representing both political parties and app elements
    1. Modify the color scheme to avoid confusion, using different colors or shades to differentiate between app elements and political party representation.
