FitPulse Reflection – Emma

Working on FitPulse was such an interesting project and recovery is something I’ve never thought about in depth, but it is a surprisingly complex space that sits right between fitness and wellness. I’ve had an Oura Ring for a while and love tracking my sleep and readiness metrics, so it was cool to dig into what those metrics actually mean and how different companies approach them. The idea of the “recovery paradox” really stuck with me, that most people know they’re tired, but don’t really understand what recovery looks like in measurable terms. I have a few friends who are serious runners and athletes, so even though our company was theoretical, it was cool to speak with potential users that cared deeply about the space — it made the experience working on the product feel really real, and the friends I spoke to were genuinely curious about our mission.

For this project, I focused a lot on the pricing strategy, our mission statement, and the financial projections. It was a fun challenge to figure out how FitPulse could make recovery feel both accessible and actionable, something that serious athletes and regular exercisers could both see value in. I learned how small shifts in pricing or messaging can totally change how a brand is perceived, and how a clear mission helps tie everything together.

Overall, I really enjoyed working on this team and exploring this space. It combined strategy, psychology, and design in a way that made me think deeply about what actually makes a product worth caring about; not just one people buy, but one that they believe in.
