Target Audience
Our target audience consists of Stanford students who actively seek out easy, low-effort opportunities to be more mindful of their health/wellness such as stretching, but have failed to make it a part of their routine. These students maybe sit for long hours a day out of necessity for class/work, experience minor to moderate back pain, have taken Stanford wellness classes such as yoga or meditation, and/or have sought out similar wellness activities on campus.
Screener
In developing our screener, we wanted to recruit typical college-aged participants that would like to build the habit of stretching regularly. We are hoping to identify individuals who 1) don’t stretch often and 2) have stretching goals that exceed their current frequency. We also attempted to condense eliminating questions (see questions 5 and 6) to avoid open-ended/variable responses and obtain clear cut information that can help in our selection.

Week-Long Diary Study
For our diary study, we are aiming to use the data we collect from our participants diary entries and create insights into their habits. To achieve this, we included a combination of logistical and content data questions and are asking participants to dedicate 5 minutes per entry. The study focuses on participants’ daily yoga or stretching habits, capturing not only when and where they practiced but also their motivations, challenges, and emotional responses before and after their sessions. By gathering both structured and reflective data, we aim to gain a holistic understanding of the factors that influence habit formation.

Data Collection Plan
For our data collection plan, we are allowing users to submit their dairy study in the medium most comfortable for them so that it does not feel obtrusive. We will provide examples during our pre-interviews with the participants so that those seeking more structure in their dairy study will have it. At the end of our pre-interview, we will also align on the medium they will choose such that we can prepare to properly parse it, and at the end of our post-interview we will ensure data has been collected successfully.
