User Story Mapping

The point that resonated with me the most was the following: Stories aren’t a written form of requirements; telling stories through collaboration with words and pictures is a mechanism that builds shared understanding. This is why externalizing ideas is very important; it helps catch misalignment within a team early. During my PM internship, the designers in my team often misunderstood the design requirements. As the PM, I wish I had implemented quick and easy ways to externalize these requirements so that there was more internal alignment.

Maximizing output while minimizing input reminds me of the “work smarter, not harder” saying. It’s about being strategic about resource allocation. I tend to adopt this mindset with my own life so I enjoy translating that in a group context as well.
