PSP 4: Three Value Props

Granola’s homepage describes their product as “the AI notepad for back-to-back meetings. Notes, actions and memory. Without a meeting bot.” This is for meeting-heavy professionals. Instead of manually taking notes, it enhances notes using conversation, letting you concentrate on listening, and doesn’t frame the product as a “bot.” The values it ties to are saving time and reducing effort, it also avoids hassles through bot-free interfacing.

Otter’s homepage describes the product as “Meeting AI for [live-coaching, follow ups, call prep]” highlighting “Transcription. Pre-call briefs. Live coaching. Automatic follow-ups.” The target users are professionals and teams, with a focus on sales among other industries. This beats the alternatives by being an active helper, assigning action items and updating the CRM afterward. The values are similarly saving time and reducing effort, and also integrates (actionable items)/informs (through briefings and coaching)

Fireflies’ home page describes the product as “The #1 AI Assistant for Your Meetings: Transcribe, summarize, search, and analyze all your team conversations.” They seem to target cross-functional teams and enterprise buyers. It beats the alternative by offering a central hub for meeting information, with conversation analysis and automatic updates. On the value pyramid, this maps to organizing through shared knowledge, informing through analytics, and integration through CRM connections.

I would buy Granola. I think this tells me the my value prop focuses on a simple, easy to use tool that focuses on notetaking instead of integrations (saving time, reducing effort, and avoiding hassle). Since I’m a student and not an employee as a part of a large team, I believe that Granola would work the best for me.

(For this assignment, I referenced Bain’s Elements of Value pyramid page.)
