10/1: Product Management in Practice

A product manager is someone who can deal with immense amounts of ambiguity and unite a team through unexpected challenges to deliver a product. This said, there is not one clear definition of a PM, but what is most important is that they are contributing to the goals of their team every day. Because of the immense amount of responsibility and lack of authority that PMs possess, they must rely heavily on their team to come together and meet its goals. Moreover, a PM must actively search for sources of problems before they affect their team’s performance and actively solve them if no one else can at the time. More than that, a PM must define their team’s own guidelines and instructions as they will likely not receive them from someone else. Importantly, there is no one profile or background of a PM. The PM is the glue that holds their team together, and thus must be humble enough to constantly be learning from those around them.

Question: What are good ways to develop effective habits of a PM?
