Axolotl: Sketchy Sketches + Wireflows

We decided our app’s name is Brevi!

Onboarding Screen (Making an account and registering)

Starting/Setting Goals/Looking at past work

Critiques

  • Overly simplistic. There should be specific goals for those who want more customizability.
  • Remove icon bar during start screen flow

Justification

This new design introduces greater visual hierarchy, drawing attention to the most important parts of the screen (functionally speaking). It is now much more intuitive and hopefully more aesthetically pleasing.

Taking A Pause Sketchy Screen

Critique:

  • It could be nice to have an option to change the type of pause activity you are doing in case you don’t like/don’t want to do whatever the suggested pause activity is.
  • Users should be able to end the work session at the end of the pause in case they want to.
  • One thing that could be interesting is having the ability to see your history of past work sessions or statistics on it. This might be a little out of scope for this specific flow but maybe we could have a button for that somewhere at the end.

After Critique

Justification:

  • For the pause activity screen, I added a swap activity button. This button opens up another sheet that has various options for pause activities. In the event that a user does not like the pause activity that was automatically suggested, they can choose one of a number of different options from this screen. Here, there are four different options, but the idea would be that this could be a scrollable list with many different options for pause activities for the user to choose from.
  • For the pause complete screen (bottom right), I added a button to end the work session, which will take the user to the bottom right screen. In the event where a user completes their pause activity and realizes that they want to be done working, they now have the ability to end the work session rather than restarting the work session and ending the work session from there. The idea is that this will reduce the number of steps that a user has to take if they want to end the work session, which ideally will improve the user experience.
  • For the work session ended screen (bottom left), I added a button that allows the user to view a history/log of their past work sessions to view their progress when it comes to building better work/study habits. While not being something a part of the pause flow, including something like this would be a nice-to-have for the user experience. It would also more easily allow the user to see statistics on the work session they just completed (e.g. how long they worked for, the number of pauses they took, the kinds of pause activities they did, etc.).
