Behavioral Persona and Journey Map

Meet Tim. Tim is a frequent chatbot user who uses chatbots for a majority of his assignments for school, work, personal things, and any other task that requires his attention. While he prioritizes speed and efficiency over all else, trying to get things done as fast as possible while also being high quality, he recognizes that chatbots can both increase short term productivity but also lead to potentially negative long-term impacts.

The goal for studying Tim is to try to find out where in his journey of using an LLM is best for an intervention and what areas of thinking/actions can be targeted as anchors for new habits to make his use of chatbots more thoughtful and reduce the cognitive drain that results from offloading too many tasks to external tools. By analyzing his stress levels at each step of the process, we can examine the areas that need most improvement and opportunities for change. Notice that the stress level journey has multiple ups and downs in the process—there is a lot of emotional volatility when it comes to chatbot use, and this is because at each step of the way there are many factors that influence thinking and behavior.
