Danny O. is a college student who relies on screens to fall asleep, despite knowing it’s hurting his sleep quality. He spends his evenings doing homework while constantly checking his phone, which keeps his brain overstimulated and makes it hard to wind down. By the time he’s ready for bed around midnight, his mind is racing and he can’t relax in the darkness and silence.
Danny tries to fall asleep without his phone, but after lying awake feeling anxious and restless, he gives in and puts on a TV show. He feels the show is the only way to quiet his thoughts enough to drift off. However, autoplay keeps the content running for hours, disrupting his sleep with light and sound. He wake up exhausted around 8 AM after only 6 hours of poor-quality sleep, making it difficult to focus in class and complete his assignments efficiently. Danny is stuck between needing his screen to fall asleep and recognizing that this habit is the reason he’s always tired.
