Clickable Prototype and Usability Script Team Rattlesnake

Introduction

We Ate is a mobile app designed to help people, especially young college adults, to eat more consistently without the pressure of traditional diet or nutrition tracking apps. Instead of calorie counting or rigid meal plans, We Ate meets users where they are: it syncs with (or manually builds) a personal calendar to find realistic windows for meals throughout the day, sends Gen Z-toned motivational reminders to nudge users to eat, and lets users log meals with a single tap and celebrate the moment with an affirmation. Each step is made customizable, e.g. users are able to edit how many meals they eat if they wished to, and can adjust the times they want to eat as well as the vibe of quotes they would like to receive. Users can also subscribe to personalized snack boxes curated to their flavor profile. The app is built around positive reinforcement, low friction, and a strong visual identity.

In the usability test, we aim to evaluate whether first-time users can successfully complete onboarding and understand their profile, navigate the home/schedule screen and interact with meal cards, use the “I ate” feature and understand what it tracks, add or edit a meal manually, and explore the Reminders tab and customize their notification vibe.

Clickable Prototype

We built a mobile app prototype using Claude (Sonnet 4.6). Two members created different initial versions  and then merged the features we liked from both into a single prototype. For example, one prototype had cute logos for different snack types while the other one had a more compact dashboard. After that, we gathered feedback from friends and classmates and incorporated their suggestions by adding five additional features. The final version includes all the features we envisioned for the app and reflects the exact style and design direction we wanted. It can be found here.
