I feel as though the second expert can come off a bit dismissive with the “move on” sentiment. It is true that she does not seem to be moved on and that is stopping her from being comfortable in her workspace. However the solution to this is not one of immediate action but of long term healing. This means that playing it by ear could result in more emotional damage. One of the experts did mention that she has earned her spot and should not be forced to leave it and I agree. It is much too big of a move to go to London because of a boy.
If I was a manager adjacent to this situation, I would enforce the regulations on B&C as well. They should not be grandfathered in considering the lack of officialness of their relationship. It is clearly the inspiration for the regulations in the first place. This bending of the rules is truly disrespectful to Elizabeth.
