I am in the Arctic Fox team, and we’re delving into the study patterns of high school students to find ways to enhance their concentration. I developed a proto-persona for a High School Student from Santiago, Chile. This student stood out to me because they come from a very different cultural and academic background than all the other students we interviewed, who are from the United States, Hong Kong, and Switzerland. Even though in Chile a different emphasis is put on academic achievement, productivity, and leisure time, this student still needs to perform at levels that are comparable to international/ US college standards and therefore depends more on intrinsic motivation to work in a focused manner and achieve academically compared to other students who are pressured/motivated by their parents and school systems.
