I created two user profiles and corresponding journey maps based on data we collected during our baseline study. Our team is focusing on the behavior of giving compliments. We’d like to increase the number of compliments people give and get. My first persona is someone who feels uncomfortable getting compliments. My second persona is someone who loves giving out compliments to build her relationships but isn’t always sure when it’s appropriate. We collected data during our study on compliments given/received and also the social situations the participant was in throughout the day. I used the social situation information to build journey maps of where each person was socially and when/if they gave and received compliments. We have seen that the social environment (number of people, closeness, formality) has a big effect on the compliments that are given out, which is why I structured the journey maps this way. I chose to focus one user profile on someone who has a perceived issue with receiving compliments, and the other on someone with an issue related to giving compliments, in order to provide a look at both potential sides of the behavior change.
