I often find this brief window in the morning where I could work out… but I don’t. And once my first class starts, I think am chasing a meal (because I didn’t eat breakfast of course), and then I can’t exercise on an empty stomach. So to feel productive, I over schedule my afternoons and by the time I am done running around, it’s already dark out and I don’t want to work out.
In the mindmap, I found that I enjoy using exercise as a social activity, and I am often one that adapts to my peers’ social schedules instead of vice versa. In other words, I am a “Yes person” who will jump at a social opportunity because it is my senior year. If I instead put my foot down and understood that excecise may help me present my best self before seeing my friends, maybe I would.
In the connection circle, a lot of weight is put on the last time I ate food. I think I should have a strict one hour rule where I am willing to work out after an hour, no matter how I feel. It’s not that I don’t like working out after I’ve eaten, but I think that I enter workflows that I don’t want to leave because I have started to work after I eat.
I am looking forward to breaking these negative cycles!
