Moodboards
Moodboard 1 (Evelyn)

I created this grounded, earthy moodboard to reflect the calm, intentional mindset I want users to associate with microlearning. The soft grain gradients, sage, rose, beige, and blue tones create a meditative atmosphere that feels gentle rather than too productivity-driven/efficient or overwhelming. The serif typography paired with spacious layouts conveys thoughtfulness and reflection, reinforcing that microlearning is a mindful, flexible ritual (based on the user’s anchor)—not a rushed or rigid task. Rounded shapes, subtle blurs, and organic compositions mirror the idea of anchoring learning to natural, existing routines. Overall, the visual system supports consistency by making the habit feel soothing, personal, and emotionally grounded rather than rigid or transactional.
Moodboard 2 (Susan)

I chose this moodboard because it captures a Notion-style aesthetic (clean, modular, and highly functional) while still feeling whimsical and human. The structured grids, neutral backgrounds, and modern sans-serif typography communicate clarity and efficiency, making microlearning feel organized and easy to maintain. At the same time, the playful, hand drawn illustrations and expressive character sketches inject warmth and personality into the system. The bold accent colors (bright blue, green, coral, and purple) add moments of delight against the minimal base, keeping the experience from feeling too rigid or corporate. In short, this direction balances productivity with charm, positioning microlearning as both structured and genuinely fun.
Moodboard 3 (Ping)

My moodboard emphasizes a productive, minimalist, and intelligent approach to microlearning. The neutral palette of black, white, gray, and muted blue creates a focused, distraction-free environment that reinforces clarity and discipline. The clean sans-serif typography, strong hierarchy, and spacious layouts communicate precision and intention, aligning microlearning with high-performance habits rather than casual browsing. The visual references to habit trackers, minimalist dashboards, and “less is more” philosophy position the app as a smart system for self-optimization. This direction frames microlearning as a deliberate, streamlined practice designed for users who value efficiency, structure, and measurable progress.
Moodboard 4 (Amesha)

I went with woodsy greens, soft blues, and warm browns because I wanted the app to feel calm and grounding instead of loud or overwhelming. A lot of learning platforms feel intense or productivity-focused, and I wanted this to feel more like a quiet reset in your day. The greens and blues give that sense of growth and clarity, like you’re slowly building something over time. The earthy browns make it feel warmer and more human, so the experience feels supportive rather than stressful.
Final Moodboard

We combined elements from all four moodboards, but ultimately leaned most heavily into the Notion-inspired direction. That board best captured the balance we wanted: structured, efficient, and modular—so anchoring microlearning feels frictionless and easy to sustain.
From the other boards, we selectively pulled in what strengthened that foundation: the grounded, earthy calm to keep the experience emotionally sustainable; the minimalist productivity cues to reinforce clarity and focus; and the growth-oriented tone to emphasize becoming more capable over time.
The final moodboard reflects this synthesis—primarily clean and structured, but softened with playful illustrations, thoughtful color accents, and a sense of warmth—so the app feels smart and organized without losing delight or personality.
