Product Sense Pushup 4: Three Value Propositions

Comparison of Three AI Notetakers

Granola, Otter, and Fireflies all turn meetings into notes. I worked from product descriptions and reviews, not the live homepages, so the wording below is paraphrased. Each one sells something different.

Granola promises notes that are still yours. It targets professionals in back-to-back meetings. It beats the alternative by skipping the bot in the call and letting your typed notes steer the AI. The elements are saves time, reduces effort, quality, and design. It also eases anxiety, because you stay present in the conversation.

Otter promises you never have to take notes again. It targets general business teams, students, and sales. Its edge is live transcripts and fast summaries. The elements are saves time, informs, and connects.

Fireflies promises a searchable memory of every conversation. It targets sales and recruiting teams. Its edge is search, talk-time analytics, and integrations with tools like Slack and Salesforce. The elements are organizes, informs, connects, and reduces risk.

What I would buy is Granola. I care about being present, and a bot in the call changes how people talk. It is also the only one selling an emotional element, not just functional ones.

What it says about my value prop is that our Slack bot sells a purely functional bundle, which is saves time by sharing context without a meeting. That puts us closer to Otter and Fireflies. Granola suggests we should also sell something emotional, like less worry about being out of the loop.
