Navigation Bar
- Users were confused by profile and settings being in different tabs on the navigation bar. {SEVERE}
- Make settings a nav button on Profile instead
- Users were confused by which tab of the nav bar they were currently viewing {SEVERE}
- Add a system status indication (maybe bolding)
- Grey out page icon on the navigation bar + darken the background color of the nav bar in the page icon’s section
Button Consistency
- Users were confused by lack of consistency across buttons and wondered whether it meant a different functionality (some plain text, different colors, styling, more contrast for more accessibility accommodation) {TRIVIAL}
- Change buttons so all buttons of the same function use the same background color + font
Onboarding
- Users were not able to tell that the onboarding bubbles were helping them learn the app, as they blend into the regular UI. {MODERATE}
- Add a label to the top of all onboarding pages
- Possibly make onboarding text an overlay that users can close
- Value Prop screen seemed like more of an ad, as opposed to getting the user excited about what they are about to learn / delineate flows. {MODERATE}
- Tweak value prop screen language slightly to directly address user/app functions, and segway into onboarding
Clarity of Sequence
- Sometimes stickers appeared before a user uploads a photo, which confuses their understanding of the sticker incentive. {MODERATE}
- Only show stickers on check-in page after users have taken a photo
Visibility
- A lot of the photo gets cut off once taken, which unsettles users – People want to be very clear about what they are posting. {SEVERE}
- Have the captured photo match the proportions of the camera view
Lack of Understanding
- People did not understand mileage points and how to check them. {MODERATE}
- Rework mileage points into straightforward tracking distance traveled, removing the middleman
- Slack reactions commenting model {MODERATE}
- Add an indication of what reactions other users have left on a post in the gallery
- Photo Streak Integration {TRIVIAL}
- Change streak metric into total stickers collected metric, as it ties more in with our current app’s focus
- Toggle for find check-in locations {TRIVIAL}
- Remove toggle and add tabs at the top that are explicitly labeled “Map View” and “List View”
Typos
- Feed is titled with “Image Gallery” which confuses user. {SEVERE}
- Rename “Image Gallery” to “Activity Feed” for clarity
