Mindful Movements: Journey Maps & Provision Personas

C.T.

C.T. is a working adult who is employed as a worker at a warehouse. The job is labor intensive with long hours, and they feel like they should stretch often so they can prepare their body for work and relieve pain. Their working days are very routine but their days off are more unstructured. They stretch regularly on work days but not as much as or as well as they would like to on days off. They feel good when they stretch but lousy when they don’t. They enjoy watching TV for leisure.

L.Z.

L.Z. is a working adult who is employed as manager at a warehouse. The job is long hours with some activity but not too labor intensive. They spend a lot of time either in their office or walking around supervising their team. Their goal is to improve and maintain their health by walking enough on most days, especially outside of work which they rarely do. Their schedule is very routine. They want to improve their walking habits but don’t feel too motivated to actually do it. They enjoy using the computer for leisure.

Insights

Both working adults have very routine schedules when working. They get in a sufficient amount of movement on their work days, which makes them feel good, but the amount of activity drops off greatly on their days off. They both want to improve their movements but lack the motivation to do so when they are not working.

I would guess that they fall into another set of habits when at home, which is to relax by doing their leisure activities, which are more passive. Once they are at home relaxing, it might be more difficult to break the flow of what they are already doing, which is resting. Their jobs are fairly tiring with long hours, so it might feel easier to fall into relaxation mode when they are at home. When looking at when they move versus don’t move, it might be worth seeing that it’s not just about when but also where, and what they are doing that could be interrupted or intervened with so they can better meet their goals.
