Team Ant: Usability Report

Usability Report Findings

  1. Missing Back Buttons & Navigation Controls (Severe)

Some testers noted missing back buttons, especially during onboarding and coach selection.

Plan to Address: Ensure consistent back navigation across all pages.

  1. Lack of Clarity on Guided Stretch Selection (Severe)

Users were confused about what happens when they select a mode (Sitting, Standing, Floor) and expected to start a stretch immediately instead of navigating through additional steps. Users were also confused when opening the Guided Stretch page and being thrown into a stretch rather than seeing an overview first.

Plan to Address: Default to an information blurb instead of immediately starting a stretch. Explore making the selection more intuitive.

  1. Unclear Role & Value of Coaches (Severe)

Users liked the idea of animal coaches but didn’t feel connected to them or understand their impact beyond selection.

Plan to Address: Improve coach visibility throughout the app (e.g., coach-recommended stretches, more interactive personality cues, or coach-driven motivation messages).

  1. Friend Activity & Leaderboard Ambiguity (Moderate)

Users were unclear if the leaderboard tracked personal streaks, friend activity, or goal progress and didn’t know what rankings were based on.

Plan to Address: Clarify leaderboard metrics and ensure friend tracking is clearly labeled and intuitive.

  1. Users Wanted More Visual Clarity in Streak Tracking (Trivial)

The streak tracker reminded some users of period tracker apps and lacked strong visual clarity.

Plan to Address: Explore using icons, animations, or a progress bar for a more engaging streak display.

  1. Confusion on Stretch Routines & Timing (Trivial)

Some users didn’t know what each routine entailed before selecting it and were unsure if all stretches were the same length.

Plan to Address: Add brief descriptions or estimated times before starting a routine.

  1. Expectation of Video or More Engaging Stretch Guidance (Trivial)

Some testers expected a demonstration when starting a guided stretch.

Plan to Address: Add a simple animation or gif of each stretch for clarity without overwhelming the UI.

  1. Coach Bios Were Too Long (Trivial)

Testers found the coach bios overwhelming and too text-heavy.

Plan to Address: Shorten bios to be more concise and engaging.
