Three Value Propositions

Granola, Otter and Fireflies all do the same thing. You have a meeting, you get notes. But the homepages are marketing quite differently. Granola is “the AI notepad for back-to-back meetings” and the whole pitch is that no bot joins your call. It’s for busy people who don’t want to take notes, and the quotes are from the Linear and Vercel CEOs. You write down whatever, Granola fills in the rest, and nobody sees your notes unless you share them. On the Elements of Value pyramid that’s saves time, reduces effort, avoids hassles, reduces anxiety and a little badge value.

Otter goes the other way… “Your notetaker should do more than take notes.” It’s going after teams, mostly sales. It preps you before the call, coaches you during it, sends the follow-up, syncs your CRM, and says you get “4+ hours” back a week. So saves time, reduces cost, integrates, organizes, informs. Fireflies is “the #1 AI assistant for your meetings” and the homepage is basically receipts: 1M+ companies, 95% accuracy, 100+ languages, 200+ AI Skills, SOC 2, HIPAA. It’s talking to IT buyers at big companies. Quality, variety, integrates, reduces risk, informs.

Personally I’d buy Granola, mainly just because it appeals to me as an individual and makes sense for my current needs. I also like how Granola keeps it simple, while Otter and Fireflies feel like they are kind of just feature-dumping.
