Usability Report Team Rattlesnake

Severe Issues

  • Adding meals is confusing. Currently, once a user removes a meal it can be re-added but the “add meal” button is at the bottom then a “add meal” molecule pops up a lot higher up in the page. This caused frustration during testing, especially in cases where a user mistakenly removed a meal or later realized they had eaten after all. We plan to fix this by allowing the “add meal” pop-up to be closer to the add meal button to make the functionality more intuitive.
  • One tester discovered that after subscribing to the Snackbox feature, there was no way to unsubscribe. We plan to add a clear unsubscribe option within the subscription settings.
  • The “Subscribe” label on the snacks page led users to expect a payment form or financial commitment, however it actually just takes

Mild issues

  • Users felt that reminders are essential for habit formation, yet the reminder settings, e.g. when to remind appears after less important customization steps. We plan to move the reminder step earlier in the onboarding flow so users can configure it first.
  • The gen-z quotes are not for everyone; users report that they prefer if the quotes were in the tone of a friend they know or a more neutral tone. We can allow this by adding “customizable quotes”, for example, you need to provide 5 example quotes then an AI will generate similar tone quotes for you in the future.
  • Calendar layout is confusing because it has two rows in the case of overlaps (but it’s confusing). Users also report a vertical layout is probably more intuitive for a calendar when the day is going forward.
  • Too many quote examples per vibe. Users report that seeing many quote examples at once felt overwhelming. We will reduce the number of examples shown and not show the whole bank of quotes but just show 2-3 for each category.
  • Some users report the home screen as confusing while others find it alright. We feel like the calendar syncing can be done during the setup, and then it can be placed at the bottom of the home screen because it’s not a very commonly used feature of our app.

Trivial issues

  • Profile button not clickable: Users expected the profile icon to lead to a profile page but it currently does nothing. We will connect it to the profile/settings page.
  • No constraints around certain inputs, for example, a meal end time could be “before” the start time. We will need to check all similar scrollable inputs and code reasonable constraints around them so there are not faulty inputs.
  • It is not clear that snack boxes are customized to previous rating/tasting preferences even though they are meant to be. We will add larger texts about how they are actually customized. For example, after user rates the snacks add a pop-up that says “thank you for your feedback, your next box will be tailored based on these preferences!”
