Week 4 PSP: Three Value Propositions

Despite all three using the same technology of AI to create notetaking, Granola, Otter, and Fireflies offer a quite different value proposition.

Granola prioritizes simplicity and helps users stay engaged in the discussion. The website highlights the ability to create notes without bringing a robot to the call. Thus, the target audience can be defined as busy professionals who want to concentrate on the discussion rather than on notetaking. According to the Elements of Value pyramid, the product mainly saves time, reduces effort, and reduces anxiety.

Otter presents not only as a tool for transcriptions but as a tool that turns conversations into actions through live coaching, transcript, and automations. The main audience for the service is productive teams that want to increase productivity in addition to the meeting. The value proposition of Otter includes organizes, informs, integrates, and saves time. Instead of remembering the discussions, Otter can help users implement the decisions in practice.

Fireflies emphasizes productivity at the team level and analytics. In addition to meeting recording and transcription services, there is conversation intelligence, CRM integration, and performance analytics. This option can be attractive especially for sales teams and large companies. According to the value proposition of Fireflies, it organizes, integrates, informs, and reduces effort, which are the main elements of value offered by the product.

Personally, I would choose Granola. Firstly, I like products that solve one problem really good but not those that have dozens of features I will probably never use. Secondly, the fact that Granola is aimed at improving the process of the actual meeting makes me think that when developing my value proposition I will also pay a lot of attention to user experience and not just to the feature list.
