Week 4 PSP: Three Value Propositions

What the homepages say:

  • Granola calls itself the notepad for people in back-to-back meetings. It’s for the individual who still takes notes, and the enemy is the meeting bot. Your notes stay yours; the AI fills in the gaps.
  • Otter calls itself the leading AI meeting agent, selling to sales teams and anyone who wants tasks automated. The enemy is doing the follow-up work yourself.
  • Fireflies calls itself the number 1 AI teammate across meetings, email, chat and CRM. It’s for teams, and the enemy is every other tool you’d have to stitch together.

Otter sells the bottom of the pyramid. Fireflies sells breadth. Granola is the only one reaching for how you feel about your own work.

I’d buy Granola. Not because it does more; it does less. It picked one person, one enemy, one feeling. That’s the lesson for my own value prop: I keep listing features when I should be naming the enemy and the emotion.
