Week 4 PSP: Three Value Propositions

These three companies all sell an AI meeting-notes product, but their values differs. Granola focuses on seamless and efficient integration and use. By not inviting a bot into the space, it still writes notes, briefs, and makes action plans. Granola’s home page is inviting, using a lovely green color that is calming.  Its promise is to have perfect memory, but without seeming like an extra presence, but something comfortable, safe, and efficient, which is how it beats its competitors. Otter on the other hand focuses on improving the skills and credibility of the user behind the screen through not only briefs, notes, action plans, but also live coaching to make meetings more productive. Otter still feels personable, but more professionally focused, with blue purple color schemes. They are selling that a user of Otter is a partner and together both become more credible and stronger in the space, which is interesting. We then see Fireflies, which provides an AI assistant in meetings that can help take notes, brief, and makes it easier to efficiently find the information in transcripts. They are selling that this is an effective tool, and have honestly the most generic website out of the three. I think both Granola and Fireflies serve at the functional level, whereas Otter pushes to be emotional, as it builds confidence in meetings and can help reduce meeting anxiety. Personally, I would buy Otter because it does more than just note taking. It actually helps me during meetings to build claims and work for productive meetings. This tells me that I want to build a value proposition that isn’t only providing a cool product, but one that is integral in improving workflow. It can’t just be convenient, it must become a partner.
