Are PMs, founders?

Product Managers hold a key role in keeping a product on track for delivery. I sometimes think of them as the CEO of a project, and they need to figure out what the most important features are that need to be built out to make the customer happy. According to the reading, a good product manager would never say something is out of their duty. They take responsibility for what goes wrong and see themselves as the point person for the success of the roadmap. That is why good Product Managers might have founder personalities that are relentless in figuring out the best talent to get a job done and appointing people to appropriate tasks. The Product Managers who come from a technical background might have more say and communicate better with the engineers in charge of the technical parts of the project, while Product Manegers with the non-technical backgrounds will need to try harder to visualize possible solutions for a problem. So part of a job of a good Product Managers is to get super comfortable with the technology used in a project. However, my question is, with such a high level of responsibility to guarantee success for a product as a product manager, how can they keep themselves motivated while they don’t have the same upside as a CEO or founder?
