BUSINESS: Should We Deploy a Gen AI Salesbot?

After completing the reading, I believe the best course of action is to move forward with the AI Salesbot but cautiously, by that I mean instead of deploying the AI Salesbot as a full scale deployment, we deploy the AI Salesbot under a pilot program. The way we would deploy the AI Salesbot under a pilot program would be having the AI Salesbot be used for specific teams under the guidance of a supervisor, for example deploying the AI Salesbot so it supplies internal support for the sales team and having a member of the sales team supervise its work. In all, I believe that the best course of action is deploying a partially automated AI Salesbot that takes on limited capabilities and is being supervised by a team member.

The reason why I believe that it is important that we deploy the AI Salesbot to a certain extent, aligns with Jeannie’s concern about behind left behind as Generative AI has offers the opportunities for companies to have the competitive edge against other companies in the market as it is a rapidly growing field that many top companies are adopting. This is why I believe we should deploy the AI Salesbot, but also raises the concern on AI safety since generative AI is a relatively new and rapidly growing field, I believe the best course of action is to monitor its actions so we do not put the company nor its users at risk of data breach and giving them misinformation causing major loses.

There are concerns of losing clients such as Orion, which offers authenticity rather than having rather than getting their inquiries be solved by an AI Salesbot. The way the company can avoid this is handled through the pilot program in the sense that AI Salesbot would only be implemented and used in scenarios in which the client has consented, and is made aware that the AI salesbot would have limited capabilities and be supervised. For the clients that do not consent to AI Salesbot they will still continue to get their needs met by the company teams.

Now with the pilot programming, and having it be supervised over time we would have collected enough data over time to analyze and see if we could increase the AI Salesbot in other capabilities as well but this is all dependent on several factors. If the supervisor has encountered little to no error, the company should increase its capabilities and continue to monitor and track progress. If the AI has multiple issues encountered by the supervisor then we would decrease its capabilities slowly and continue to monitor it. In all the program is focused on enhancing productivity and service, not cost-cutting as with generative AI that is constantly evolving and improving. We know within due time what differentiates the best companies with the worst will be how the companies utilize artificial intelligence to improve their service.
