Freedom of thoughts vs constrains of resources

I like design thinking as it removes the boundaries of thought and takes you for a couple of moments out of the constraints you face in the real world. It lets an individual imagine a preposterous future instead of a possible one, which pushes the individual’s creativity limits. Often times people fall into the trap of expert fallacy and they think experts have the best solutions in mind, but experts tend to always think within the limits and constraints. However, Design thinking simultaneously introduces some distractions as stages of divergence and convergence, and it takes a long time to reconvene the thoughts. While it’s very idealistic to think outside of the bounds and listen to numerous customers who face a problem to gain empathy towards their problem, and conduct experiments with the proposed solutions, we lack the freedom and the resources to operate in such a broad way, and we need to be more efficient methods under the constraints of time and resources. The example of Gainesville indicates that the design thinkers didn’t have the time to talk to everyone in the city and empathize with them, so they ended up discriminating against and affecting many marginalized communities in the town, and their education level fell drastically.
