Orbit Objectives and Key Results

Orbit is a mobile application that aims to help people stay in touch with the people they’d like to connect with the most. Our implementation involves random reminders to reach out as well as a map of the user’s social connections. This map tracks each relationship’s progress as the user completes challenges with their loved ones.

Here are our objectives and key results:

Objective: Motivate users to complete the challenges we recommend.

Key Results:

  • Users say “YES” to at least 50% of the challenges we recommend by Q2.
  • Of users that click “SNOOZE” in response to a challenge, at least 50% eventually say “YES” by Q3.
  • At least 30% of users complete the written reflections after completing a challenge by Q4.

Objective: Improve activity recommendations to better align with user interests.

Key Results:

  • Increase the number of activity prompts in our challenge bank by 80% in Q2.
  • Establish partnerships with at least 15 activity-related businesses that can sponsor challenges by Q3.
  • See a 50% decline in the “NO” (challenge decline) rate by Q3.

Objective: Encourage users to stay in touch with loved ones.

Key Results:

  • See 50% of users with red nodes (relationships growing apart) in their social map turn these nodes yellow or green by Q3.
  • Get 75% of users to customize the default reminder frequency settings by Q2.
  • Increase the average number of connections per user to 7 by Q3.
