LinguaLeap TAM/SAM/SOM

Bryant, Britney, Rachel, Lucia, Sera

Areas of focus

  • Going beyond traditional learning methods by incorporating songs, shows, and other forms of media to immerse learners in the language
  • Place a stronger emphasis on culture, ancestry, and history, recognizing that language is deeply intertwined with cultural identity
    • Expanding support for lesser-known languages through open-source and crowdsourcing efforts, fostering a community-driven approach to language preservation and accessibility

TAM (Total Available Market)

Anyone learning a language. The bottom-line goal of LinguaLeap is to facilitate successful language learning. This applies to anyone learning a language from students and professionals to casual learners and polyglots from all over the world.

SAM (Served Available Market)

College students learning a language with any device that has internet access. Since the company specifically caters towards college students, its features will be leveraging academic and professional growth that is important to those in higher education. Additionally, considering that LinguaLeap provides AI tools and personalization, these students would be using the app or website through personal mobile devices.

SOM (Segmented Obtainable Market)

College students with plans to study abroad in a program with a language requirement.  This places an obligatory need for target users to learn a language. These students can then use LinguaLeap in the initial stages of learning the language to secure a spot in the study abroad program. Furthermore, they can continue to use the app during their abroad experience.

Second/third/etc. generation students wanting to build stronger ties with their heritage. Many young adults (especially if away from their families during school) are inspired to learn more about their cultural and ancestral heritage. American assimilation can lead to language loss and feeling disconnected from culture, but also leads to a strong eagerness to learn!
