Product Management in Practice

Being a PM is being the best friend of the main character in a movie. It is the type of support everyone else could use to make their lives easier and helps push the “plot” or product around. However, realistically speaking, it is not what people are focus on in the same way the engineers, designers, etc might deem as the most necessary part of the entire operation. Their job is to be the connection between every team and to keep track of overarching goals that are necessary in delivering projects. Pms are responsible for the success of the project during the duration in the scope of company and maintain the responsibilities of its failure. To be honest, being a PM sounds kind of horrible on paper. However, a good PM will not only strengthen interpersonal connections, they are able to produce outcomes faster. At the end of the day though, they are just an extra team member there to fill in the gaps. My question is: what makes a good teammate?
