A product manager’s role is incredibly specific and unique to the company. However, in general, I see a product manager’s job as the one responsible for understanding the value, viability, usability, and feasibility of a product. Specifically, their role is to figure out what needs to get done and how it will get done. In practice, a product manager wears many hats and is the communication “broker” between many different teams. They have many responsibilities but with little authority.
One question I have is: Good product managers have product management experience. What are ways to get this hands-on experience early stage in your career?
