The EduSphere project really opened my eyes to the difference between a class project versus building a viable business. I learned a lot about how to drive business value through ideating new revenue streams and accessing new sales channels. The panel’s questions about how much money we’re raising and how our business offers differentiators in the market allowed me to realize how difficult it is to create a business in the ed-tech space which is such a crowded market. I also enjoyed the process of whittling down feature ideas to build for a specific group. It was difficult to narrow down the scope of our project, but it allowed us to create more effective mock-ups for our presentation. I hope to continue applying this entrepreneurial mindset as a product manager, and I am excited to learn more about how to actually test which business models are the most effective for our company.
