Granola, Otter, and Fireflies do similar jobs, but emphasize different reasons to buy.

Granola feels personal. “Helping people though busy days” appeals to anyone with back-to-back meetings. It promises to take private notes while you are on the meeting, with no meeting bot. The founder and investor testimonials add status by association. In the Elements of Value pyramid, I’d map it to saves time and reduces anxiety, in the functional and emotional layers.

Otter advertises towards towards companies, especially sales teams. It offers searchable meeting knowledge, automated follow-ups, and CRM updates. Its advantage over basic transcription is doing something with the conversation afterward, and offering a live in-meeting chatbot. I’d map that to reduces effort, integrates, and organizes in the functional layer. \

Fireflies sells shared team memory through transcription, search, and conversational analytics. Its nine industry tabs make the audience feel broad, which makes the pitch feel less personal to me. It competes through feature breadth, integration, and security claims. I’d map it to functional informs, organizes, and integrates, with emotional reduces anxiety through its security messaging.
Based on these homepages, I’d buy Otter. For me, the feature of live chatbot and live transcription pushes it above its competitors. It’s important to me to be able to get answers on the conversation immediately, while the discussion is still happening. That preference shows the value I want to bring as a PM: helping a team turn information into shared understanding and clear next steps.
