My team, Team 8, is focusing on getting people to go outside more. The following personas are anchored in a specific participant in our baseline study but do include general trends found in a majority of our participants.
This is SC. They think “any day spent in a tree is a good one!” and are actively trying to go outside more. The most helpful thing has been going on “therapist-mandated” walks. They go on a walk nearly everyday, at least once. Like a good portion of our participants, they are a social smoker and often spend a large period of time outside smoking with their friends. They always end up self-reporting feeling their best on days that they smoke and see their friends.
This is RF. He spends a majority of his days in the lab. Unlike SC, RF’s weekdays are nearly identical everyday so I changed the journey map to be an average day instead of work week. He does not have much free time and has to actively schedule outside time or he will only go outside to get to his next destination. Their mood drastically improve after eating, which they normally do not do until dinner because they always feel stressed, late and rushed in the mornings.
