Nayan: The project has been a great way to think about how to integrate AI into an older, less technologically advanced company while still retaining the vital human element. Rather than just using AI for automation and to replace humans, the project pushed us to brainstorm how we can create a product that uses AI to augment human capabilities, exposing us to the core of human-centered product management. Working on the “solution” component of the slides, I was able to explore this area, thinking about how we could combine the AI and human elements in an ethical way to differentiate us from existing GenAI platforms and synthesizing our customer feedback to decide which new features to implement. I enjoyed the initial phase of our prototyping and envisioning how we can revive GSPhotoCo and help the company better serve its users.

Tuvana: This project has opened my eyes towards understanding business models and helped me understand what AI can do in the creative world. Pricing tiers and market segments were interesting to think about, especially comparing creator value with what enterprises need for us to get over the loss in revenue. After giving the presentation, our team feels better in terms of understanding which market we are in and how we can take advantage when coming up with solutions. It was a learning lesson to clearly explain why our solution is different and we will be focusing on that heavily for our final presentation. It has been fun connecting dots with product, a little bit of design, and strategy, similar to how the speakers in the class taught us and how startups also work on their ideas based on pitch deck feedback from VCs

Arda: This presentation has been very helpful in practical AI applications to a real-world problem. While evaluating our business and proposals from a traditional perspective focusing on factors like profitability, market segmentation, and market entry, it has also forced us to get creative with ideas to turn a business that is becoming obsolete into one that adapts new technology to compete with modern competitors. I feel like I have gotten to work on each stage of this process with my team, and getting exposure to everything from design to financial forecasting has been great. It was also very helpful to have the presentation feedback from VCs and people in the industry to see how they think about businesses and evaluate pitches.

Reyna: This project has helped me understand how important clarity and iteration are when communicating a product idea. From creating the initial GSPhotoCo pitch deck to revising it after feedback, I learned how design and storytelling come together to make a strong presentation. Our first version laid a good foundation, but through the feedback process we saw how our visuals, differentiation, and narrative flow could be improved. We learned that even good ideas still need to be communicated in a way that feels simple and intuitive. We refined how we described GSPhotoCo’s hybrid AI and human approach in a way that better appealed to the ethics, we clarified pricing tiers, and we better emphasized what made our solution different from existing tools. Making these changes helped us understand our market more deeply and think about how real companies position themselves after receiving investor input.
