Behavior Log + Insights
The behavior I chose to change over the past two days was my TikTok consumption. Over the past two days, I recorded the total amount of time I spent on TikTok and found patterns in the different situations where I would open up the app. On Saturday, I used TikTok for a shockingly low duration of 37 minutes and on Sunday, I used TikTok for 2 hours and 2 minutes (pretty average).
I noticed that I have a habit of automatically opening TikTok whenever I have some downtime. However, I usually spent the most time on TikTok before bed typically for 1-2 hours depending on how tired I was. When I felt burnt out from my school work or wanted to find a distraction, I would also scroll on TikTok to entertain myself. I also found myself watching TikToks while eating meals in the dining hall if I was uninterested in any of the TV shows I was watching. I realized when I have a lot of social interaction or plans during the weekend, my TikTok watch time drops significantly (i.e. Saturday screentime). I also used other forms of distractions (ex. playing with slime, face timing friends) to lower the amount of time I was spending on TikTok.

Final Takeaways
Going forward, I would find other forms of distractions to replace TikTok. Rather than relying on sheer willpower to not long on the app, I believe finding other activities to occupy myself, such as reading or playing with slime, would be more productive. I also found an interesting connection between my social interactions and watching TikToks.
