I agree with the expert to some degree, but not completely. I feel as though they were significantly too quick to dismiss staying at the company. Is the situation ideal for Elizabeth? Obviously not, but her position seems very good outside of the issues she has with brad and Claudia. While these issues and her feelings are also clearly justified, her and Brad were seeing each other for around a month without anything clearly defined, and I believe that its something worth trying to get past to maintain her position. Brad absolutely acted in an unkind way, but there was nothing against any rules, no broken promises, and while he holds a higher position, he is not her superior in any way at the company. If she can’t handle it, then it is her decision to leave, but I don’t think you can say that it is the correct decision for any reason other than Elizabeth decides thats what she wants to do.
If I was the manager I would certainly not force her to “mentor” Claudia, and I would have a conversation with her about how she was doing and what she was comfortable with. Outside of that, it would be my job to remove any obstacles to doing her work, so removing interactions with Brad and Claudia when possible, but also encouraging her to find ways to move past the situation but supporting her if she needed to make a change.
