P1 Individual reflection

Starting this project was like being thrown into the deep end. Everything was moving really fast, and it felt like I was drowning at first. But after getting to know my teammates, we started to get on top of the project. For our first presentation, we had a solid plan, but it was only when we got to dig into the topic for the second deadline that we really started to build something meaningful.

The experience of being randomly assigned a team, meeting people I didn’t know previously and try to be as efficient in our work together right away was a challenging, but rewarding experience. It allowed me to meet brilliant individuals, and challenged us to create a team mindset and culture during this short period.

It was really pleasant to build on the existing assets of our company. We did extensive research to understand the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of our business. This helped us to identify the best way to leverage our existing assets to create a successful product. I believe that exercise was really valuable, since we will always be evolving in a environment with prior assets, and learning how to leverage these in the best way possible is very powerful in my opinion.

One of the most helpful aspects of the project was the mentoring session with Jen. She pointed out some weaknesses in our user research, which prompted us to conduct user interviews, deeper case studies, and market analysis. This helped us to shape our product and marketing strategy in a way that would really resonate with our target customer. At a point where we were loosing momentum a little bit, that session helped spark new ideas and helped us deliver a much more mature version of our project in the end.
