Working on the product pitch was an enjoyable experience not only because it involved actually developing a conceptual understanding of a viable product but it also put us in a simulation of what it was like to collaborate with others from different academic backgrounds to ultimately pitch the product to a larger audience. As a result, I was able to gain first hand experience of what it would be like to be on a product team in industry.
One aspect that I found particularly interesting was the user interviews component. Here, I was able to talk to potential users and gain real insights into the pain points that they encountered while creating music. Hence, we were able to incorporate this feedback into our action plan and guide the development of our product into the most useful accessory to our target market.
Finally, pitching the product to a panel of product experts was also an exciting challenge. This too yielded actionable insights that we used to direct our decision making and thinking.
