PSP 4: 3 Value Propositions

OtterAI Transcribe Voice Notes – Apps on Google Play

Otter.ai:

Otter.ai markets itself as “your Conversational Knowledge Engine” and “your personal executive assistant,” so it appears to fall into the Functional tier of the Elements of Value (EoV) pyramid, which emphasizes saving time, simplifying tasks, organizing, and integrating. On their homepage, it appeals to different types of companies and functions, like Education, Recruiting, and Sales.

Fireflies: AI notetaker - Apps on Google Play

Fireflies.ai:

Fireflies.ai is the least differentiated product, at least on the website. It makes its promises to its customers with a clean page, direct actions, and data, particularly in their section titled “What it feels like to use Fireflies AI,” which emphasizes the efficiency gains their product has brought for its customers. It also seems to appeal to very large corporations, like Nike, Delta, and Expedia, which likely care more about productivity boosts rather than maintaining human connection as a priority. It fits into the Functional tier of the EoV pyramid.

Granola - AI Meeting Notes - Apps on Google Play

Granola.ai:

Granola.ai markets itself as “notes, action, and memory, without a meeting bot.” Compared to the other brands, it acknowledges privacy concerns and subtly emphasizes the human aspect this will preserve. In this case, not only does it fulfill the Functional tier in the EoV pyramid, it also taps into the Emotional tier, like reducing anxiety around privacy concerns. It makes its promises by emphasizing the companies that uses its product and allowing you to download for free.

Opinion:

I would choose Granola.ai. I really enjoy the earth-y logo, which goes well with its marketing that it is not just another bot notetaker. I also admire the privacy concerns it hints at. For our own product, since we’re trying to differentiate from the other 14 AI agents in the classroom, we want to emphasize preserving relationship building, rather than another clean, sterile AI product that anticipates replacing human connection.
