1d reflection (10/31)

Overall, this project was a very rewarding experience. Our group was given what I would say was a more different product to pitch and this required us to definitely think outside of the box to find a product that was feasible and viable to market. I think we all learned a lot working collaboratively to continue to redefine what this product would look like and how we wanted to transition our company to enter the smart phone market successfully. I personally learned a lot about marketing strategy, development timelines, and sizing the market which has been extremely helpful in understanding how the role of a PM functions to holistically cover the life cycle of a product. As someone with a largely technical background, this was the first time I had to really consider and brainstorm the beginning of the lifecycle and make conscious decisions about what would make a feasible product, which was very valuable. I believe our team did a good job of overcoming obstacles together, especially after redeveloping the scope and direction of our product after our pitch presentation. It was also a great opportunity to experience what it’s like to make these user centric decisions with other stakeholders who might have different opinions or visions of what the product should be. I had a great experience overall working with my team and believe this was a very insightful project to give me a taste of the role of a PM.
