Group 1C: Project Individual Reflection

Working on this project has been a compelling journey, marked by challenges and revelations. I can frankly say that taking this course has been a great way to kickstart my journey here at Stanford. Initially, the randomized assignment of project companies seemed arbitrary, but as time went on I began to appreciate more and more how it seemed to mirror the dynamic nature of product management in real corporate settings. I think it’s a good proxy of how product management works in corporations. One doesn’t always get to devise and bring to life new ideas (what they want) but sometimes have to make the best out of whatever has been handed and/or assigned to them.

The ‘open’ landscape of the WavePower industry presented an engaging yet intimidating aspect (honestly I still dread the market sizing and revenue prediction parts). Nevertheless, amidst these complexities, my confidence in the industry’s vast potential has grown substantially. The current shift in focus towards climate technology, with increasing investments and efforts, further solidifies the immense possibilities in this domain

Given how this is an entirely new industry in the making with no companies for us to even refer to, I’m quite happy with how my group did with the project. Yes, there is (and will always be) scope for improvement but I’m quite satisfied with how all us were able to pool in our skills in producing a quite satisfactory result at the end.

This project has instilled in me a newfound confidence. It has not only broadened my perspective but also provided the impetus to contemplate delving into startup courses and exploring entrepreneurship. For this I’m quite grateful to the instructor and her team.
