Intervention Study: Proto-Personas & Journey Maps (EB)

For this assignment, I created three personas, each accompanied by a respective journey map. Each persona is named and drawn as a letter based on their tagline. My three personas were B (“I don’t want to be a burden”), E (“long-distance friendships take energy”), and S (“out of sight, out of mind”). Each of these personas represents a class of behaviors, attitudes, and situations that we saw in some of our study participants. Specifically, each persona represents a class of key challenges that people face in maintaining long-distance friendships.

B is a recent college graduate trying to maintain long-distance friendships but who worries that they rely on their long-distance friends too much emotionally. We saw this concern in a number of interviews. E is a college student trying to maintain long-distance friendships but who needs to take into account that doing so takes energy. We also saw this noted in a number of interviews. S is a busy new career professional trying to maintain long-distance friendships but who is busy and sometimes lets long-distance friendships take the backburner. Again, we also saw this noted in a number of interviews. Additionally, these three prototypes are also based on some level of personal observation outside of the direct scope of this assignment/study.

Attached below is a PDF of the personas and journey maps.
