Product Management in Practice.

I see product manager’s job as to get things done. This means creating product mock-ups, scheduling check-in points with developers, interviews with users, negotiating product roadmap, understanding user needs, etc. They are the middle of everything; they communicate and mediate between all engineers, designers, company, etc. However, it’s not about being the boss and building product. It’s more about weaving everything together cohesively by taking initiative. A bad PM users jargon, asks questions unrelated to what’s important, building everything, etc. In essence, a good PM will ask questions, work closely with your team, and stay focused on doing the most impactful work.

One question I had was how to differentiate between the quality of PMs? How can one PM stand out in a pact of other PMs?
