Would you accept a job at Facebook?

At this point in my life, I would accept a job at Facebook if offered. However, I would not blindly accept a job without knowing what exactly the role would entail. I would need to know “how close the stink gets to my office.” As mentioned in the reading, there is a difference between directly working on something that compromises your ethical values, and simply working for a company with these unethical practices. Avoiding every company with these issues would be extremely difficult, and is not something that I expect myself to do. Even at companies like Facebook with notable public scandals, there is a way to still remain an ethically correct worker. If everyone with a certain set of ethical values avoided Facebook, then the company would struggle to ever change its ways. While the task seems nearly impossible at such a large company, I would guess that Facebook would be more likely to change its ways if its employees were aware of these unethical practices, and proceeded to actively work towards changing them. Rather than completely avoiding a company due to its ethical issues, I would be more interested in working on improving the company from within, to the best of my ability.
